Painting

An ounce of Prevention is worth a pound of Cure

Most Kansas City area homes built within the last 40 years have moisture sensitive siding, window and trim materials.  Preventative sealing, flashing, repair and updates are critical to maintaining products commonly used in our area.  Particularly vulnerable are builder grade window and siding systems (including Masonite, Abitico / Abitibi, Louisiana Pacific Smart Panel, and Stucco).  Using our almost 30 years of experience in maintaining (and replacing) these systems, we design a comprehensive approach to maximizing the life of your existing materials. Although time consuming, hand painting exterior materials (with a brush and roller) provides superior lasting protection to these vulnerable exterior surfaces.  This premium method, combined with strategic caulking, repairs, flashings, and other improvements can prevent the premature failure (and expense) so often seen in today’s newer homes.

Why Brush & Roll the Exterior  (Instead of Spray Painting??)

In addition to making a home look beautiful, exterior painting should also seal vulnerable materials.                                                        This is especially true of the wood based edges, crevices, and porous materials (like those used on modern homes).                               Simply put-  Paint applied by a brush or roller seals the vulnerable areas (while spray painting does Not)..

We’ve also found that when paint is applied “at full strength” (un-thinned) by brush & roller, it last significantly longer than spray applied paint (which is often thinned or diluted to ease application during spraying)..

Our 5 Step Process:

Step 1: Powerwash
Step 2: Carpentry & Repairs
Step 3: Scraping, Grinding, Sanding & Priming
Step 4: Strategic Caulking & Putty
Step 5: Finish Coat(s) Applied by BRUSH & ROLLER   (Not Spray Painted!)
